Supporting Venues During Covid19 | St. Vitus Bar

Artist communities all around the world have been impacted by mass sheltering in place including Brooklyn’s center for the dark arts, St. Vitus Bar. After a month of not hosting any shows the nearly decade-old venue has responded to fan requests to support the legendary bar during these uncertain times with a Kickstarter campaign. Backers quickly leaped to support the prolific metal venue raising over $70,000 in under 4 days. St. Vitus is a hub in the Metal, goth, hardcore, and industrial scenes and has hosted an abundance of macabre and morbid bands such as High on Fire, Full of Hell, Harley Poe, The Descendants, EYEHATEGOD, the list goes on and on.

St. Vitus is releasing a series of rewards exclusively available for all campaign supporters. The Bar’s rewards for backing this campaign include limited edition merch, instrument lessons with some of your favorite musicians, photography, DJ mixes, artwork, and rare, highly coveted one-off items. Rewards announced so far include 2 killer t-shirt designs both of which are brand new, an autographed copy of Iron Man by Tony Iommi, tickets to future shows, a video drum lesson with Billy Rhymer (Dillinger Escape Plan, H0990), a hoodie and a year of free shows! The venue plans to give a preview of new rewards on their social media accounts Mondays and Thursdays.

St. Vitus is an integral part of the artist community in Brooklyn and beyond; as uncertainty lingers, shows at St. Vitus have been canceled or postponed until at least June 7th. Be sure to keep a close eye on the campaign to see what unique and interesting rewards are up for grabs next and pledge to support the metal community. Hail!
