Global Day of Art is the coolest holiday you’ve never heard of. Why haven’t you heard of it? Because it’s brand-spanking new! That’s right this new holiday, Global Day of Art takes place annually on May 1st with it’s inaugural date on May 1st 2024. 

Global Day of Art is aimed at celebrating all forms of art and urging everyone to create art, to purchase art and to organize creative events. The mission of Global Day of Art created by the Free Art Collective, is to make art accessible to all. May 1st was chosen as the date for it’s already celebrated around the world with an active history of MayDay which is the halfway point between Spring and Summer. 

Global Day of Art aims to become the “Christmas of Art” and would like to use this platform to connect with artists and activist all over the world. So what’s stopping you from creating, purchasing or gifting art this Spring? Is there anything stopping you from organizing a pop-up or simply playing some music in a park with some friends?
