Snailmate – Donuts in the Rain – Music Video of the Month

The Arizona-based Synth-Punk, Hip-Hop duo “Snailmate” puts us right back in the party with their energetic vibes. Did we mention that that party just so happens to be hosted in the shadow realm and this demonic rave is spinning nightmare tunes all night long, drinking recklessly, lighting things on fire, and scaring the absolute shit out of us.

Donuts in the Rain” was released in February 2021, along with it Snailmate released a live session video. Their music is a perfect distraction to the world’s echoing silence, amping up the listener and simultaneously creeping them out.

Snailmates’ songs are the perfect getaway to all that we are collectively experiencing now, it’s truly surreal music for surreal times.

Who says we can’t throw a personal rave in our apartment? Or throw our hands in the air and get down to these groovy danceable, intense tunes, or just be as hype as possible using their music as our accelerant to spread those good vibes.

Although our lives may currently be a bit uncertain and our mental health may have been shaken at this present moment it’s okay to be frustrated when adjusting to the new normal. The duo even admitted that they’ve experienced their fair share of struggles as well. When their tour was canceled, suddenly the band was caught in the position of having to drive from Beaumont TX to Pheonix cutting their tour short.

There may be challenges, here and there; yet still, our hip-hop duo surprises us, doubling down on their efforts and hoping in the studio as soon as their tour was canceled.  The new album cleverly entitled “Stress Sandwich” will soon be available on all streaming platforms; reviving the fun aura yet gifted with theatrically-comedic music.
