Crumble Boy – Or Grow – Weekly Feature

Crumble Boy has released their debut music video for their song “Or Grow”. The artistically shot video features scenes of a stroll along an autumn riverside interwoven with various shots of homemade style videos. The Crumble Boy is the moniker of Philadelphia based singer-songwriter Evan Hoskins who will be releasing the self-titled Ep in 2020. The music video which is available on Youtube was directed by Emily P. Townsend invokes feelings and sentiments of struggle and triumph through imaginative imagery and cinematography. “Or Grow” which was self-produced by Hoskins and colleague Luke Shefski at Headroom Studios in Philadelphia is a coming of age song about prevailing all of the many trials and tribulations life has in store for us all.

The Crumble Boy derives its name from a feeling of falling apart which came to shape while traveling “across the West Coast in a grief fueled creative frenzy, leaving a trial os songs…that lay across many different states”. Regularly playing shows in the greater Philadelphia area Hoskins is known for its creative musical stylings and captivating song structure and sensibility. Blending guitar stylings of 70’s British folk music with contemporary rock influences such as Kurt Vile, Crumble Boy offers listeners a distinctive, rejoiceful, and alluring art-folk sound.

The single for “Or Grow” as well as the track “Daffodil” are each available on Spotify. The Crumble Boy self-titled ep is slated to drop 2020 and will be available on your favorite streaming platforms. Due to the current state of the world, C.B. does not have any scheduled shows; but all future shows as well as upcoming releases will be listed on their website.
