P.O.D. | Norma Jean & More at Sunshine Studios Live

P.O.D. otherwise known as Payable on Death stopped into Colorado Springs on Saturday May 4th promoting their new album Veritas. On this stop of the I GOT THAT tour P.O.D. was joined by Blind Channel, Badwolves and..the almighty Norma Jean! The sold out show at Sunshine Studios Live was packed wall to wall for the platinum selling band, P.O.D.

The new album features a collaboration with Randy Blythe from Lamb of God on the album’s opening track, “DROP”.  The song titles (in all caps) are as loud as the band plays live, which of course is extremely loud. The aggressive energetic stage presence has not faltered in over 30 years and P.O.D. is still as lively as ever. 

P.O.D. has always been an early adopter writing songs about contemporary life problems in America including devastating school shootings. “Youth of a Nation” released in 2001 is a song nearly everyone has heard at least once and the meaning behind the song is still, unfortunately, as true as ever. 

Even after achieving mainstream success P.O.D. has always adopted the underdog mentality, still proving themselves musically. P.O.D. believes they are writing some of the best music they have written to date and the new album Veritas is a testament to that statement. 

The Atlanta based Norma Jean was revving up the crowd early on in the night. With an extremely energetic and heavy set the band was not shy about getting the crowd moving, even joining them at points. The pit was absolutely wild during the Norma Jean set and the energy continues through the night. 

Norma Jean has been creating music for over 20 years with their latest being, the 9th studio album, “Deathrattle Sing For Me”. The band has always stood true to their heavy sound while including more wider appealing choruses in verses in later material, puts on a hell of a show and is a must see for any metal fan.

The sold out crowd at Sunshine Studios Live was a force to be reckoned with; the spacious venue was absolutely packed with music fans of all ages.
