Emo Vs Pop Punk Party, What is it? Is there a winner? Of course there is a winner! But it’s neither emo nor pop punk, it’s that inner angsty little teen version of you. Remember when you were young and your parents would get overly excited for 80’s night because it reminded them of railing cocaine while listening to disco and roller skating or whatever? Well it’s finally your turn! Just Replace the cocaine, disco and roller skating with energy drinks (or PBR), emo, pop-punk and skateboarding. 

The elder emos came in droves decked out in eyeliner & I heart Boobies bracelets to Sunshine Studios in Colorado Springs, Colorado to attend the Emo Vs Pop Punk Party on Thursday March 21st. As soon as the doors opened the DJs were already spinning the pop punk hits and the emo classics. 

Something that sets Emo Vs Pop-Punk Party apart from other similar organizations is that they play music videos throughout the duration of their events. It’s basically a time machine that brings you back to when Fuse TV was on air but you get to enjoy the nostalgia with 100s of others. And make no mistake the DJs will hype you up! This is more than just watching music videos, this is a MySpace inspired dance party. 

So many attendees sang along to their favorite most well known Emo & Pop-punk songs and others like secret service sleeper agents recited the words to a song they haven’t thought about in years but flawlessly recited every lyric. The excitement of the crowd belting out their favorite tunes from yesteryear is nothing short of electric.

Bringing it back to the MySpace days the Emo Vs The Pop Punk Party certainly knows how to get down with all your emo favs and pop punk classics. The show featured songs and videos from bands such as Bayside, My Chemical Romance, Sum 41, The Used, Simple Plan, Taking Back Sunday and many others, including those one off bangers like Metro Station’s “Shake It”.
