Desperate Electric – Vacation – Music Video of the Month

Montana soul-pop duo Desperate Electric released their sparkly new music video for their psychedelic song Vacation. This blissfully groovy track is enticing and smooth the video is alluring and eccentric making it an obvious choice for music video of the month. Premiering March 26th, 2021 the video was shot in conjunction with Vivid Northwest, an aerial videography and photography company.

The video shows a fun scene of Desperate Electric camping, singing karaoke, playing tennis, The production of this video was done with care which is obvious upon the first watch. Vivid Northwest appears to primarily work with businesses making their collaboration on this video all the more special.

I’m tryna pretend I’m on vacation it’s not a conversation that im tryna have with no body trying to be glad even though i’ve got no money

The video begins with the disco duo themselves completing a puzzle leading them into a visually alluring vacationland of splendor! The pair can be seen enjoying fancy cocktails, singing karaoke, lounging poolside and tearing it up on the dance floor.

The various backdrops used in this video make for a great piece of cinematography; with shots ranging from a lighting-fast golf ball flying blissfully through the air to cheetahs tearing across dry terrain faster than Clark Kent changes clothes; the clips used throughout are absorbingly captivating.

Desperate Electric brings the party wherever they are serving up some funky-groov-a-dellic tunes.

This disco inspired track is fun in a blaze and apathetic way with lyrics such as “with the right amount of denial, I can crack a little smile”. The pair each takes a verse each of which plays to their contrasting vocal timbre. The choruses vibrantly pop with the vocal contrast becoming very much complimentary

Vacation was released on March 26th and was self-produced and recorded by Desperate Electric.  After being forced off the road by Covid last year the band had to quickly make a decision and decided to move to Butte Montana. Although the band probably would have preferred to have stood on the road, instead they got to work in their brand new home studio and popped out this funky fabrication.

Vacation tells a story of ‘finding your beach’ wherever you are. Sometimes you just need to pretend you’re on vacation. Follow Desperate Electric on Spotify, Youtube, Facebook & Instagram.
