Spooky Music For Your Halloween Playlist

This list might not be for everyone. I don’t know about you guys, but spooky season is for Folk Punk for us. Check out the list, it’s not all Folk Punk and we made sure to include the genres in the list for you. I highly recommend checking out all of these bands anyway regardless of if it’s spooky season or not. We promise the music will not disappoint. Here is some spooky music for your Halloween Playlist.

Halloween Playlist

Doom Scroll – Colorado – Folk Punk

One track that particularly tickles our fancy is Silver Lining; it features Jesse Sendejas from Escape from the Zoo and Dayz n Daze. The danceable track includes some shredding mandolin melodic vocal shrills between harsh screams making it a fantastic edition for a spooky playlist. Check out all their music and be sure to see them live; they put on one hell of a performance.

Harley Poe – Indiana – Folk Punk

To be honest, Harley Poe was the inspiration for this article. I can’t help but get in the horror motif mood when Harley Poe comes on. It is the season for hunkering down and watching scary movies, why not add a little psycho to your playlist too. I like to think that listening to Harley Poe is like getting a little window into the mind of a deranged thrasher movie villain. Most of Harley Poe’s songs are a perfect edition to most Halloween playlists.

Blackbird Raum – California – Folk Punk

One of our favorite entries on this list is Blackbird Raum. You’d likely be hard pressed to find all… jeez idk 20 of them in a subway car these days but their music is otherworldly. Taking folk music to the extreme the largely acoustic band makes some of the heaviest acoustic music you will find. The song Witches by Blackbird Raum would fit nicely on any haunted playlist, the lyrics “It won’t be the witches that are burning this time” routinely gets stuck in my head the moment the leaves start changing.

Hail Seizures – Washington – Folk Punk

Speaking of heavy folk music, another great addition to any halloween playlist is Hail Seizures. We love all the tunes but 2 tracks to check out in particular are Hunter and Daddy. Horror isn’t always blood, guts and gore, sometimes it is real world horrors and the folks closest to you. Not every song needs to be about vampires and ghouls to be added to your Halloween playlist.

Railyard Ghosts – The Streetz – Folk Punk

While we are not sure of which state Railyard Ghosts originartel from (maybe Louisiana total guess) We’re also not sure of their current level of activity – but my god were those shows i saw in 2026/17 a ton of fun. They’ve got some awesome crafts for sale on their FB page; so support em if you can. Regardless of if they still are or aren’t playing music their music is the epitome of scary.

Cousin Boneless – Pennsylvania – Folk Punk

According to bandcamp the most recent music from Cousin Boneless is the split they did with the absolute behemoth of a band, Bridge City Sinners. I’ll wager Bridge City Sinners is already on your halloween playlist. If not, oh wow look here’s a chance to add it! That alone warrants a spot on this list. But check out the music and listen to the terrifying sounds yourself. 2 track we particularly enjoy are Devil’s Will and Dance Macabre.

Horror Pops – Denmark – Pop

Don’t worry its not stray cat strut. While we try to report exclusively on US bands (sorry EU and Canada we don’t like your email laws) sometimes a band is just too good. For real we don’t mean to diss foreign bands but 1 GDPR violation would sink our entire company. Enough of that the Horror Pops Fucking rock! You won’t be afraid of freaking your friends out too much with this one; these songs are catchy, spooky and of course horror themed. This pop band commands the brand of horror and we freakin love it!

Dr. Steel – California – Industrial

This is an interesting entry as it may be our only industrial band on this list. We believe Dr Steel is no longer active but honestly we don’t know. It seems that music is published and taken down fairly often. We don’t know what Dr. Steel is thinking and they seem a little insane in the best way possible; and judging by the music… wow. Creep core to the max, Dr. Steel sends shivers up our spines with his horror industrial sound making it a perfect add to your halloween playlist.

Robby Bloodshed – New Jersey – Punk

We’re a little biased as we are fully aware NJ is the best state, in fact it is our home state! So aside from being from the best state Robby Bloodshed makes some insane tunes. In true horror punk fashion Robby Bloodshed throws some serious misfits vibes; of course the misfits are a good addition to your halloween playlist but you already knew that. His most recent album released in April of this year entitled Dripping Red II is a must add for your halloween playlist. We are particularly fond of the track Creepin’.

Blitzkid – West Virginia – Folk Punk

Speaking of the misfits…Imagine West Virginia and how horrific that must be! After all it is home to Mothman so no wonder it births horror punk as good as Blitzkid. Formed in 1997 the horrospunk band from Bluefield West Virginia Blitzkid has been a pioneer in the horror punk genre spreading the unique vibe far and wide. This type of horror is scary and I love it! It’s something everyone should add to their list.

Rubix Pube – Pennsylvania – Punk

Rubix Pube does things to my ears and mind that most bands simply do not. In 2023 I attended Pube Fest; it was likely the best punk show I’ve ever been to in my entire life. Bands that played pube fest in 2023 included Mr. Unlovable, Big Gorgeous, Cult of Nasty and of course Rubix Pube. HailRubix Pube, and of course Hail Bob! If you’ve never seen this band perform live you are 10000%% missing out in a major way. Giver them money so they can tour and come to Colorado. I mean what’s more horrific than finding out your baby is chewing batteries or your cat is smoking crack cocaine!?

There you have it! Some bands with songs to add to your Halloween Playlist. Hopefully there was at least one or two here you weren’t familiar with. See ya in the next one!
