Same Dude Interview at Black Sheep
Black Sheep, the renowned rock venue in Colorado Springs hosted a local showcase featuring the talent of the Springs. The hometown heroes included: Stereo Ontario, Same Dude, Broth, & Glitter Porn.
Black Sheep, a venue that hosts many nationally touring acts, is a staple of the music community in Colorado Springs and a coveted venue for many musicians to play at. Their Summer schedule will feature artists such as Free Throw, Mad Caddies, Ballyhoo!, Jeff Rosenstock, Tsunami Bomb and many other acclaimed acts.
Aside from hosting nationally touring acts the BlackSheep, voted best venue for 15 years running, will also host local showcases, as they did on April 27th. It’s no secret that Black Sheep rocks; catch a show soon and see for yourself.
We were fortunate to witness all the talent Colorado Springs has to offer and we had a chat with Psychedelic Indie-rockers Same Dude. Before we get into the interview let’s talk about the other bands present that night.
Stereo Ontario
Stereo Ontario is a psychedelic rock band from Colorado Springs. Known for their harsh vocals overlaid with intricate guitar work the band regularly plays in the Springs and greater Colorado areas. The band will next be playing in Colorado Springs on 5/19 up the street from the Black Sheep at What’s Left Records.
Broth
Broth had a very interesting set Saturday night at the Black Sheep with many members adorning interesting costumes such as a wizard and a clown. Known for writing catchy songs and blending genres within the indie-rock umbrella; Broth captivates their audience with clever crowdwork, creative aesthetic and solid songwriting.
Glitter Porn
Drawing a large crowd to the Black Sheep on April 27th the avant-garde, inter-dimensional Colorado Springs based, Glitter Porn has a dedicated fanbase. Bringing a big theatrical element to their sound and live performance Glitter Porn keeps the audience grooving with catchy circus-esque music with both funk/dance and dark wave elements. Interacting heavily with the audience, Glitter Porn commands the crowd with their signature brand of queerness; don’t sleep on Glitter Porn, get to a show as soon as you can!
Same Dude
Same Dude, as stated in the interview, is high-plains, post-surf power-slop idiot-rock band ripping up the Colorado Springs scene. Their distinct blend of psychedelic indie-rock has carried throughout many stages in Colorado. Composed of many big players in the local scene including Vultures open mic host, Joe Bruno, the band draws a big crowd of dedicated scenesters. Check out the interview below:

Black Sheep
