Indie Attic Playlist – June 2021 Part 2

Happy pride month to all our queers & allies! This half of the month we’re spinning some great tunes from various artists. This edition of Indie attic has a lot of “wake up/morning songs” to kick us off; listen to this playlist before July rolls around!

Inner Wave

Let’s face facts; Inner wave is an indie bands, indie band. Indie kids want to listen, indie bands want to be them and to be frank we don’t blame them. It’s not like Inner Wave is a small-time band having played shows with bands such as Crumb & appearing at multiple festivals playing along side the likes of Tame Impala, Tot y Moi & BadBadNotGood but, we must admit we are surprised they are not already bigger.

Champagne Atlantis

Following in our theme of morning goodness on this playlist is Champagne Atlantis from New York. Experimenting with drum machines and samplers and heartfelt songs and exotic sonic qualities. Putting out a new song this month Champagne Atlantis released a new track, “Ole Reliable”.

Cookie Tongue

Crafting captivating jingle-like songs Cookie Tongue has a childish-like vibrance to their music. With sounds similar to a commercial jingle to haunting trance dream-like songs with lyrical style similar to that of Tiny Tim.

Pretty Sick

Combining lyrics to the style of MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden with the full fuzz of Joyce Manor Pretty sick is well, pretty sick! Their 2020 release Deep Divine left us wanting more and Pretty Sick didn’t disappoint with their latest single Come Down, released earlier this month. The NYC born & bred band has an impressive library of music videos to complement their

Billy Dang

Jersey’s own Billy Dang offers us perfect road-tripping music. Billy’s tunes will have folk fans pleasantly content on their next beatnik bender. On the Road Back to you dropped in March of this year; previously Billy Dang has released a series of singles that lend themselves to his influences of Mark Knopfler, Mac Demarco & Beach House. Billy is a bedroom pop star producing his own music through melodic guitar playing, soulful synth & organs, and creative songwriting all at home and on his own.

We want to hear your music! Please submit music on our playlist submissions page. Don’t forget to listen to our current playlist before it’s gone! Playlists are updated on the 1st & 15th of each month.
