DSE’s Virtual Open Mic

If you and your band run the DIY circuit in NJ chances are you have probably at some point met Mike & Ernie. The pair have been supporting the scene individually with Mikerommedia and Ernieisokcool for years and over a year ago decided to join forces to form Damn Straight Entertainment. DSE has been a driving force in the NJ local music scene booking shows all throughout the state at various different venues and locations. Damn Straight Entertainment will be hosting an open mic session on Zoom Saturday night 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM Each musician will have a 10-minute set. If you would like to play please sign up here.

In addition to hosting digital open mics DSE also presents a series of quarantine streams interviewing a featured artist per episode. This week’s episode features Justin Turk and coming up on April 24th DSE will host Sonoa who gave a great performance at the Mayview Community Center Fundraiser. In addition to booking and promoting shows the duo also creates a podcast: Damn Straight Radio. 

DSE uses their podcast to interview bands usually beginning with the age-old question “Wawa or Sheets?”. Damn Straight Entertainment open mic encourages acts from all genres, poets, comedy, and any other form of creative expression.
