NY based producer Adam Tilzer spearheaded this wonderful tribute as an avid Cohen fan himself. While he has worked with the likes of Keith Richards, Beck, and Little Steven, Tilzer’s passion project relies heavily on local artists, including Elijah Mann, The Defectives, Ellajay, and Giselle.

 From the first note, listeners are taken on an auditory adventure with a vast array of vocals, stylings, and sounds. While some songs will haunt your soul, others will have you on your feet dancing along. From The Smokey Life to Bird on a Wire, and all the way down to Chelsea Hotel #2 (sung by Tilzer himself), each song on this album is worth more than one listen. And it cannot be overlooked that Cohen’s most famous song, Hallelujah, was thankfully omitted, and instead, the tracks are pulled from the sadly forgotten depths of Cohen’s repertoire. What makes Cult Classics Vol 1.: I Don’t Even Think of You That Often truly special is each of the featured artists breathes new life into the works of Cohen and hopefully will give a new generation the chance to fall in love with Leonard Cohen.
