Solar Point: An Interview with COS’s Acid-Laced Grunge Rockers
|Solar Point the Colorado based blues influenced, acid-laced grunge-rock band spoke with us ahead of their set at the Volt of Vultures: a 3 year celebration of Colorado Spring’s best punk venue.
Solar Point, a new band on the Colorado scene has a lot to offer music fans with each member bringing something unique to the table.
Drawing abstract influences from bands as eclectic as Jane’s Addiction, Primus, & Sublime, Solar Point crafts groovy songs with powerful vocals that gets crowds moving.
Being a relatively new band Solar Point does not currently have music online. Despite this the group always draws a large crowd within the Colorado Springs music scene.
The band is working on self-producing some music that they hope to share with fans soon. Being only 5 or 6 months old were going to have to be a little patient with them; after all you can’t rush greatness.
Recently playing The Black Sheep in Colorado Springs on November 13th with bands such as Noise Resort, North By North, & Semifiction Solar Point knows how to put on a show.
Solar Point was also among the bands Playing Vultures Halloween Cover Set Show.
The band covered Pixies (Sorry to burst your bubble but the band was never called THE Pixies) Playing hit songs such as Wave of Mutilation & of course Where is my Mind.
Challenging themselves with a sound different from their own, Solar Point nailed the Pixies cover set.
The band would like to cover Black Sabbath for Halloween next year.
If you have FOMO over missing the Halloween cover set show fear not – Vultures will be hosting another cover set show Saturday December 7th, rumor is the Ramones and The Misfits will be there.
Don’t miss your chance to see Solar Point live December 13th at Lulu’s Downtown in Colorado Springs along with Amber Gene, Same Dude, and Total Cult. Tickets are available at https://www.lulusmusic.co/
