The Implication | NJ Punk

The Implication is a new punk band in NJ ripping up the scene, going full-force with many shows throughout the garden state. I would be stoked if I walked into any given dive-bar and saw the guys in The Implication playing their classic sounding blend of punk music. 

The band recently released a live tape giving fans a first taste of what the band is all about. Including songs from a previous project, Live from the Cancelled Show is the perfect precursor of what’s to come. Keep in mind these are the barebones recordings and the band does intend to release a lot of music from the sounds of it.  

The band came together after seeing each other play solo sets and realizing they had similar styles and musical taste. Drawing influence from bands like the Bouncing Souls & Jawbreaker the band is creating their own unique take on a familiar sound. 

The live recordings feature songs from the guitarists and drummers previous band, Pepe Silvia. And I don’t know about you but I’ve checked every damn room in this place and I still can’t find any PEPE SILVIA!! Even playing a show back in April with a band named Rickety Cricket, it’s always sunny wherever The Implication is. 

With a vocal style similar to Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio and Bad Religion’s Greg Gaffin the songwriting is driven by classic punk motifs such as being broke, hating the government, and feeling unimportant. The gritty punk sound is at the core of the bands songwriting. 

The band has many upcoming shows including a May 26th gig with NJ’s own STFU, a band with more than a decades’ history who recently played the Elephant Talk Indie Music Festival. The May 26th gig will take place in Lake Como, NJ. Contact the band for more details.
