Joe Billy/Elementality – Storm
NJ punk rocker Joe billy teams up with Elementality, Tribal rock from Northern NJ, and the result is an eruption of mishmash sounds, divergent yet complementary. Letting not a single thing standing in its way this new song tackles subject matter akin to achieving victory despite adversity and pressing forward no matter the odds. Inspired by the BLM movement this song stands in solidarity with the struggles faced by many Americans, and individuals across the globe. This song is about prevailing even in the bleakest of times which was the very nature of recording this track remotely during the quarantine era of the pandemic.
Desperate Electric – Karaoke
Soul-Funk duo Desperate Electric from Montana released their new groove Karaoke, a seductive song about the early stages of what would become an opulent romantic entanglement. Lovers rejoice, Desperate Electric will have you feeling alive and boogieing along! The band released a series of singles and an EP in 2021; Karaoke is the band’s first single release this year, with more expected; keep those eyes peeled!
Eichlers – My Checkered Future
Eichlers, purveyors of Hyper-Ska release their new album My Checkered Colored Future. This album is truly one of a kind in its dynamic sound collaborating with fantastic artists including Omnigone this album is a must-listen for any ska fan. Combining lyrics ridden with punk ideals with classic ska style song structuring Eichlers goes the extra mile adding elements of hyper-pop, hip-hop, emo, and trap to these unique songs. The single “ Things U C in Me” is a perfect example of the genre-bending blends to expect when listening to this album. Out on Bad Time Records, My Checkered Future is an album we have been vibing with lately.
GFM – Framing My Perception
Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh are a trio of sisters from Florida crafting amped-up faith-based metal called Beauty-Core. Their unique style has landed them on several national tours the current of which is in support of American rockers, Fozzy. Imagine the pop sensibilities of Paramore, wrapped in Slipknot-style packaging paired with dynamic instrumentation and powerful choruses. Their latest single Framing My Perception is out now. Catch GFM on tour this month; they will be playing Irving Plaza on 4/11, The Stonepony on 4/14, The Sherman Theater on 4/15, and the Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, NY on 4/17.
Water Street – All We Tried To Be
The Blairstown NJ-based Pop/Rock band Water Street released their 3rd album, All We Tried To Be in February 2022. The bluegrass-inspired acoustic rhythm of this music creates a beautiful easy listening, Americana sound. The band also released a music video for their single What a Life. The band will be holding a release party this May at Roy’s Hall in Blairstown with special guest Andie Baldwin on May 20th at 8:00 PM.
Joe Holt – Shawna
Simply put this is a love song written for a very special person. This expressive, upbeat, and high-energy song has a unique vibe that intrigues the listener with crisp, yet harsh hardcore vocals and thrashy, djent-y guitar licks. Joe Holt, the musician from southwest Minnesota has been creating metal and hardcore adjacent music under several different monikers over the years including HolyName, Joe Holt & Baron of Iblen.
