Grendelsjourney – Musician Spotlight

grendelsjourney is the feel-good rap we didn’t know we needed. The chill vibes seep through the speakers with radiant energy from these songs. With songs like Frank Gecs & Junebug Grendels journey took me right out of the despair of winter and mentally placed me at a summertime barbeque with good friends and family. Releasing multiple tracks and Eps in 2021 grendelsjourney has been pumping out the feel-good tunes the world so desperately needs.

But, don’t let all the upbeat nice sounds confuse you grendelsjourney tackles subjects like romantic abandonment, love, mental health, and a variety of subjects revolving around the human experience. While some of the music has an upbeat acoustic, summer-like enchantment to it there are other tracks that utilize a more traditional hip-hop beat with lyrical matter addressing complex human issues. Songs such as Ghost & Cobwebs have a darker timbre to them while maintaining flow and precision.

The latest release Honey Moon blends together the many styles of grendelsjourney having a guitar hook, using elements from electronic/dance music in vocal modulation. The song again sounding fairly happy is a ballad about struggling with all of our own biggest critics, ourselves. 

Grendelsjourney, the genre-bending artist from Middletown, New Jersey has been releasing music as early as 2019 with no end in sight. This artist has consistently been putting out good music over the past 3 years and we are excited to see what is to come; we are looking forward to potentially more releases this year.
