Good Tunes Podcast is a music-centric comedic podcast hosted by long-time friends and frequent bandmates and creatives Tim Montalvo & Roger Wuy.
Vivaciously telling tales of good tunes Tim & Roger tackle music reviews, interviews, album reviews, telling stories from their personal experiences in the scene, and generally just vibing out on some great music. The duo offers tactful & punchy commentary to both, the music we know and love, as well as the undiscovered & underground.
Montalvo, a lifelong musician, shares a passion for music with his artistic guests. Roger & Tim were regularly getting together to play music and pursue creative endeavors they figured, “why not start a podcast?”
The pair have a natural banter that engages their listeners as if inviting them into the conversation. With topics ranging from stories from the quintessential DIY gig in the vibrant NJ scene as Wake Up Paradise to discussing new releases with witty commentary, Good Tunes is a music podcast worth checking out!
Idiot Box, the parent channel which features Good Tunes got its start back in 2017 first focusing on its other programs The Gamer Corner & The Post Credits; a gaming show and another show about upcoming films, tv-series, and other pop culture and media.
Montalvo is no stranger to dipping his feet into a little bit of everything and showcasing multiple shows on his youtube channel, showcasing his talents and uploading weekly.
Idiot Box recently began airing 2 new programs, a comedic web drama series Roomies & our topic of discussion today, Good Tunes.
Launching Summer of 2020 Good Tunes covers a multitude of topics from popular music to indie bands and everything in between.
Full of eccentric commentary and zany dramatized voices that, like any good podcast, take some strong stances on opinions; Good Tunes is perfect for any music lover. Often rocking out to both released & unreleased music the duo discusses songs both well known and underground.
Typically dissecting one song per show, showing appreciation for a variety of genres and bands while also paying respect to an artist’s creative writing processes, Tim & Roger explore a band’s sound across multiple episodes looking closely at the songs they enjoy and discussing them in detail.
The show is hosted in Roger’s garage/studio; the drums, amps, and mics set the perfect backdrop for Good Tunes Podcasts which looks forward to hosting more musicians on future episodes.
